About Tyrone Johnson

Tyrone Johnson is a dynamic praise and worship leader. His Spirit-filled lyrics, combined with his tremendous love for the Lord, burst forth each time he sings. Tyrone's music is rooted and grounded in a deep and sincere desire to worship God with his whole heart. His high energy praise style is second to none.

Since 1993, Tyrone has traveled both in the United States and abroad as a singer and worship leader. Crossing cultural and international boundaries, Tyrone's mission is to lead all ethnicities and nationalities in praise to the God he serves and adores. The purpose of this music is to glorify God and edify God’s people through instruction, encouragement, worship and praise. Through his ministry, Tyrone seeks to lead people, regardless of religious affiliation, race or creed, into the presence of God, and to promote unity in the Body of Christ.

Tyrone began singing at the age of 7 in his native Louisiana. A graduate of Dillard University of New Orleans, Tyrone performed classical, spiritual, and gospel music as a featured soloist in the Concert Choir and the Male Quartet. His tremendous gift for inspiring and edifying the Body of Christ with his music earned him first place in a vocal competition at the prestigious "Seminar in the Rockies" event sponsored by the Gospel Music Association.

Since moving to the Dallas area in 1990, Tyrone has performed in ads both for radio and television, and has provided background vocals on various jazz, gospel and contemporary Christian music recordings before writing and arranging his own gospel music projects.

Tyrone is also a devoted family man. He and his lovely wife Angela have been married for 14 years, and Tyrone gives a tremendous amount of credit to the strength, courage and love of this devoted woman of prayer. Tyrone and Angela have recently welcomed twins into their lives and aside from his love of God and his beautiful wife — little Faith and Mark are Tyrone's crowning glory.
